ASTM B280-19,Standard Specification for Seamless Copper Tube for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Field Service.
ASTM B280-19 establishes the requirements for seamless copper tube intended for use in the connection, repairs, or alternations of air conditioning or refrigeration units in the field.
The chemical composition shall conform to the chemical requirements in Table 3 for the specific type of copper.
These limits do not preclude the presence of otherelements.
Grain Size
Coiled lengths shall be furnished in the O60 temper and shall have a recrystallized grain size of 0.040 mm minimum when determined in accordance with Test Methods E112.
Tensile Requirements
The tube shall conform to the tensile requiremen prescribed in Table 4.
Tensile tests need not be performed except when specified in the contract or purchase order.
