The construction of glass strands is described in a series of two to four segments of alphabetical or numerical characters.
The fibers shall be free of any free alkali metal oxides,such as soda or potash, and from foreign particles, dirt, and other impurities. The composition ofthe E-Glass classification of glass fiber shall be within the limits specified in 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier.
