This Part of this BS/EN 71-6 specifies requirements for the use and design of a graphical symbol for age warning labelling on toys not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
This provision does not apply to toys which on account of their function, dimensions, characteristics, properties or other cogent grounds are manifestly unsuitable for children under 3 years of age.
The purpose of the symbol is to inform adults that the toy might be hazardous to a child under 3 years of age.

3 Use and design of the graphical symbol
The age warning shall be clearly legible at the point of sale of the product.
The age warning, whether it is given by the symbol or in written words, shall aear either on the toy  itself or on its retail packaging. L
N(IFE. Th make the consume familiar with the symbol specified in this standard, both the age warning symbol as well as the written warning should be applied next to each other, for a transitionai period of three years.
The indication of the specific hazard(s) shall appear on the toy itself, on the packaging or in the instructions for use. (See EN 71-1).
The design shall be as shown in figure 1. The details of the design shall be as follows:
— the circle and the stroke shall be red;
— the background shall be white;
— the age range and the outline of the face shall
be black;
— the symbol shall have a diameter of at least
10 mm and the proportions between its different
elements shall be such as those prescribed in
figure 1;
— the age range for which the toy is not suitable
