BS EN 33:2019 specifies the connecting dimensions of WC pans and WC suites regardless of the materials used for their manufacture.
BS EN 33:2019 does not apply to siphonic action WC pans and WC suites.
NOTE 1: Other connecting dimensions are permitted, e.g. special designs of WC pans, if the manufacturer supplies or recommends the appropriate fittings.

6 Fixing dimensions for the seat
If the WC pan manufacturer does not provide a WC seat with the W pan or does not recommend a suitable WC seat model, the fixing dimensions for the WC seat shall comply with the dimensions given in Table 8 and Figure 2. The angle a is defined to ensure the stable position of the WC seat and its lid in the upright position (see Figures 3a to 3e).
