BS/EN 1527-2019 pdf download.Building hardware – Hardware for sliding doors and folding doors -Requirements and test methods.
6.2.1.2 Sliding door
For building hardware for doors less than 200 kg. the panel size as described under 4.4 can be chosen. For doors over 200 kg, the panel size shall be 2 m high by 2 m wide (grade 4 as described under 4.4). The same panel size shall be used throughout all test procedures.
The weights shall be added to locate the centre of gravity at the geometrical centre of the panel, and they shall be firmly attached to prevent any movement as the panel opens and closes.
NOTE For the purpose of testing. a panel can be a skeleton frame, weighted as required. to test door fittings of
different capacities.
These panels shall meet the general requirements of 5.2.
6.2.2 Installation of the fittings
6.2.2.1 Top hung sliding door and multi-panel folding door
Install the top track and brackets in the frame in a horizontal position and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the panel in the opening and make any necessary adjustments to ensure free movement. Provide a guide to the bottom of the panel to maintain it in a vertical position.
NOTE During the test, lubricants can be applied if recommended in the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
6.2.2.2 Bottom rolling sliding door
Install the bottom track in the frame in a horizontal position and In accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Install the top guide track and the top guide in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the panel in the opening and make any necessary adjustments to ensure free movement.
NOTE During the test, lubricants can be applied if recommended in the manufacturers maintenance instructions.
6.2.2.3 Folding door (bi-folding type)
Install the fittings, according to the manufacturer’s instructions using only the fasteners furnished with the set.
Assemble the door panels and install the door in the frame, making any necessary adjustments to ensure free movement, all in accordance with the manufacturer’s fixing instructions. Mark the pivot in such a way that any vertical movement can be easily identified and recorded.
Install the aligner in the position specified by the manufacturer, if supplied.
NOTE During the test, lubricants can be applied if recommended in the manufacturer’s maintenance
instructions.
6.3 Test methods
6.3.1 Sequence of testing
If a component becomes weak during the test, this component could be replaced to carry out the following clause. This maintenance shall be recorded in the test report.
The tests shall be carried out with a test sample in the same sequence as the clauses are numbered in this document. If the clause sequence is not followed, the sequence shall be recorded in the test report.
6.3.2 Inspection and assessment of results
Before and after completion of each test, carry out the inspection of all components of the complete building hardware sliding system after removing any loads and after using adjustment devices, if applicable. Record any changes that have taken place since the initial inspection.
6.3.3 Sliding doors
6.3.3.1 Overload tests
6.3.3.1.1 Slam test for slide fittings with built-in end stops or damping devices
The sliding door shall be opened/closed by means of a string or cord attached in line with the front surface, at the mid height of the sliding door, at 10 mm from the front surface edge, unless otherwise specified (see Figure 3).
lithe weight of the door is less than 200 kg. the position of the door “X” is 300mm.
lithe weight of the door is more than 201 kg and less than 1 000 kg. the position of the door ,‘X” is 500 mm lithe weight of the door is more than 200 kg, the position of the doorX” is 1 000 mm.
Close/open the sliding door with built-in end stops 10 times towards the fully closed/opened positions using the mass ma+mb.
Start the movement 300 mm/500 mm/i 000 mm from the closed/opened positions respectively. The test mass shall act until 10 mm before the sliding door is fully closed /opened. The test shall be carried out as shown in Figure 3.
In the case of damping devices or self-closing mechanism, the test mass shall act until 10 mm before the mechanism starts.
The sliding door, the fittings and their components shall not become detached.BS/EN 1527-2019 pdf download.
