ANSI INCITS 394-2004 pdf download Application Profile for Interoperability, Data Interchange and Data Integrity of Biometric-Based Personal Identification for Border Management
Not all biometric technologies and features are appropriate for all border management applications. As such, this standard provides a method of packaging features through the selection of technologies, functional components and feature options within components, beginning with a core set of biometric functions that must be included in all conforming biometric border management applications. Other components will be relevant to application conformance depending on the specific biometric technologies incorporated in the application.
To conform to this standard, a biometric border management application shall comply with all of the core set of biometric functional specifications in 3.1.1 as identified in the tables in Annex A . Not all of the specifications in these standards are required under this profile. Further, a biometric border management application shall comply with one or more of the functional specifications listed in
3.1.2 as appropriate for the functional requirements of a particular application. 3 Normative References 3.1 Existing Standards The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this American National Standard.
