ASME QME-1:2007 pdf download Qualification of Active Mechanical Equipment Used in Nuclear Power Plants
QR-1000 SCOPE
This Standard provides the requirements and guidelines for the qualification of active mechanical equipment whose function is required to ensure the safeoperation or safe shutdown of a nuclear power plantIn addition to requirements and guidelines put forth inthis Standard, the active mechanical equipment shallcomply with the requirements of the applicable designand construction codes and standards. This Standard does not apply to electric componentssuch as motors, electric valve actuators, instrumentationand controls, which are qualified by conformance withappropriate EEE standards
QR-2000 PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standard is to provide the require.ments and recommended practices to qualify activemechanical equipment to meet specified functionalrequirements during operation and during or after anypostulated abnormal or accident conditions.

QR-4000 DEFINITIONS
Active mechanical equipinent: mechanical equipment containing moving parts, which, in order to accomplish itsrequired function as defined in the Qualification Specification, must undergo or prevent mechanical movementThis includes any internal components or appurtenanceswhose failure degrades the required function of theequipment.
aging: the cumulative effects of operational, environmen-tal, and system conditions on equipment during a periodof time up to, but not including, design basis events orthe process of simulating these effects
Application Report: documentation for a specific application showing that the required pressure ratings, qualification loading levels, and operating conditioncapabilities are equaled or exceeded by the corresponding pressure ratings, qualification loadings, andoperating condition capabilities shown in the FunctionalOualification Report.
candidate equipment: active mechanical equipment to bequalified in accordance with the rules of this StandardClass 1E: the safety classification of the electric equip.ment and systems that are essential to emergency reactorshutdown, containment isolation, reactor core coolingand containment and reactor heat removal, or are otherwise essential in preventing significant release of radioactive material to the environment.
component supports: structural elements that transmitloads between the components and building structurebut does not include intervening elements in the compo-nent support load path, such as electric motors and valveoperators
demonstration: the provision of evidence to support theconclusion derived from assumed premises.
