Scope
1.1 This standard covers flexible sprinkler hose with fittings intended for use with fire sprinklers ininstallations requiring a flexible attachment to the sprinkler system piping such as clean rooms, suspendedceilings,and exhaust ducts.

2 Components
2.1 Except as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with therequirements for that component.

CONSTRUCTION
6General
6.1 Flexible sprinkler hose with threaded end fittings shall be constructed of metallic pressure retainingcomponents and have a rated pressure of 175 psig (1.24 Mpa) or higher.

6.2 The inlet shall have at least 1-inch size male or female NPT pipe threads in accordance with theStandard for Pipe Threads, General Purpose. ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 or other suitable means of connectionsuch as a grooved fitting in at least a 1-inch size. The outlet shall have 1/2, 3/4 or 1-inch female NPT pipethreads.

6.3 The flexible hose shall be provided with the fittinas attached and secured to the hose. The insidediameter of the hose and fittings shall not be less than 0.75 inch nor the diameter of the largest sprinkler
orifice intended to be installed onto the assembly.
