UL 486A-BULLETINS:2004 pdf download Standards Technical Panel of UL for Connectors, STP 486 Subscribers to UL ‘s Standards Service for Wire Connectors
PROPOSED POSTPONEMENT OF EFFECTIVE DATE
UL proposes to postpone the effective date for Clauses 6.2.5, 6.2.6, and 10.42 in the First Editionof UL 486A-486B from November 15, 2005 to October 10, 2006. The proposed October 10, 2006effective date is consistent with similar proposed requirements issued in a UL bulletin datedDecember 16, 2003 that proposes a new Fifth Edition of UL 486C. UL proposes that therequirements in both UL 486A-486B and the proposed requirements in the new edition of UL486C become effective at the same time. This will have the added benefit of reducing costs forsubscribers as well as UL since only a single coordinated industry review would be required.Maintaining the current November 15, 2005 effective date would result in the conduct of twoseparate industry reviews.
COMMENTS DUE: February 20,2004
The effective date is not part of the ANSI Standard. Therefore no ballot of this proposal bulletin willoccur.
